It's easy to wax eloquent about Asheville, a mountain town in eastern North Carolina that is both thriving arts center and springboard on to some of the state's best natural scenery.
The U.S. National Whitewater Center offers 11 miles of single-track trails on 307 acres of land running along the Catawba River. The trail is known as the best option within its region of the Carolinas. Challenging climbs, steep descents and river views are among the many qualities riders will enjoy here.
Trails are open from 6 am - 10 pm daily. Trailhead access is in the southeast corner of the parking lot and maps are available for $2 at the Outfitter's Store.
