Enjoy the tree-covered hills that surround Tappan and Clendening Lakes. Relish the picturesque farms, fields, and countryside.
Find history at the Native American and Moravian Missionary Trail, and at villages, past and present.
There is some fun history in Deersville, where Main Street was recently designated a Historic Dictrict and listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Spend some time in the General Store (est. 1901) savoring its famous homemade ice cream. Or you can see a live performance at Deersville's Community Hall (est. 1913).
Scio's history includes its college, oil boom, and famous pottery.

Brownsville Church and Log Cabin (OH)
In 1941, the Brownsville Church was moved from the Village of Tappan.
Clendening Lake (OH)
This 1800-acre lake is a quiet place to boat and fish. The marina is full service; it has boat rentals, launch ramp, supplies, docking, a lunch counter, and motel units.

It's near Freeport, and accessible by SRs 800 and 799.
Deersville General Store (OH)
The General Store is 99-years-old and has everything a camper or sportsman could need. You'll love its famous homemade ice cream.

Faith Ranch (OH)
You can horseback ride, take a hay ride, and barn dance at this4200 acre ranch. There's also a summer ranch camp program. Campcounselors come from all over the world.

Feed Springs (OH)
Once a popular stop in the covered wagon days, travelers today can still find peace and quiet at the community church, cemetery, school, and the spring.
General Custer Monument (OH)
Located in New Rumley, the birthplace of Gen. Custer. His statue overlooks several presentations about his life.

Scio Museum (OH)
The museum contains a collection of Gen. Custer memorabilia. It also displays things about and of the oil boom, Scio College, and the Scio Pottery.

Tappan Lake (OH)
The 7.3 mile lake covers 2350 acres and has 41 miles of shoreline. Beautiful tree-covered hills can be seen from the US-250 portion of the byway. There is a playground, campground, cabins, a shower house, and a swimming beach.
Directions
It is 7.5 mi. west of Cadiz on US 250. Take CR 55 to get to the entrance.
Village of Tappan Site (OH)
A historical marker has been erected at the location of the village of Tappan, which was covered by the lake formed for flood control.
