Description
This easy loop trail begins at Forest Route 2013 and follows a former logging road through seeded log landings and an adjacent wooded area. Hikers are invited to view and study wildlife associated with the area through the provided nest boxes, track pit, interpretive information and wildlife plantings. Benches are provided at several locations along the trail for those wishing to observe. Please do not disturb nest boxes or wildlife.
Steepness: Much of the grail has grades of 8% or steeper. Length: Trails are usually more than 8 miles, but short, steep trails may be included. Surface: Trail is most likely rocky, with uneven footing. May include many stream crossings.

Camping, picnicking and fishing are available on the nearby Hiwassee River. For a long hike, visit the Gee Creek Wilderness or try the Starr Mountain Trail. Or simply enjoy a scenic drive down State Highway 30, perhaps stopping at one of the many picnic areas along the Hiwassee River. For an overnight visit, try Quinn Springs Campground on Hwy. 30.
Trail Information: Trail is marked with white rectangles on trees at eye level. Travel time is 30 minutes.
Site Amenities: Parking and visitor information bulletin board are available at the trailhead. This includes a map and a guide to what species inhabit the various areas along the trail.
